Logic Pro X Melodic Breaks Template:

For episode 91 we created a Melodic Breakbeats track from scratch, we set up Logic Pro X at 125BPM and the refresh rate to 96000KHZ.

We begin from absolutely nothing, record the drum pattern in MIDI using the sequencer, and get to edit the material, we divide the part so we can mix them independently. We then add to the percussion patterns to create the basic breakbeats groove.

We then move on to record the bass! After browsing through preets we get to compose some decent bass keys and get to work on designing our bass sound using logic pro x alchemy of course. After we played the bass pattern we added a second layer of raw sounding distorted mid bass. Moving on we get to compose the main lead, first we set up a send channel with a large reverb so composing will be more pleasant to the ears. After jamming a bit we get some cool sounding melodies that we edit and include into the song.

We then use the key from the melody to create a simple chord that will be used for an arpeggiator to create more movement in the mid low frequencies of the song. We then reuse the chord to create a stab or plucks pattern to create more movements, then we look for a preset for the newly created part.

Then we need to add some drums to create a true breakbeats groove, we then set up to create the song main lead, the preset we use is a smooth bell like sound with a clean sine wave. We successfully record something nice and melodic!
