Tell us more about your label and how you got started?

I started at the beginning of 2016, after spending about a year at a UK record label. It was one of the most established electronic labels in the market and one of the first to start selling sample packs, so I started learning more about the insights from a label’s point of view. Right now my label releases high quality templates in different DAW formats from top 20 producers across various genres.

Why did you start your label?

I began producing in 2012, for my artist name, app games, movies, radio shows, and other artists. It was hard work every day, and never reached the success I wanted until I jumped into the educational branch of music production.

What is your best selling product to date and why do you think it did so well?

Our ‘UK House’ Samplepack, the ‘Viper’ Serum Preset Pack, and the ‘Cause I Know’ Template are my top 3 selling products.

What makes your label offering different to others?

I noticed most labels just do the packs, sell them, and don’t have any one-to-one interaction with their users, the everyday music producers. I wanted to give more than just samples to our users, but also production tips every week, video tutorials, giveaways, and live feedback.

Tell us about how you acquire talent into the label.

We give our contacts in each product and in our website. We listen to every demo sent from producers who want to join, and if their quality is up to our standard, then they can join in.

What do you think about the current state of the industry?

In my opinion, right now it feels oversaturated. But like WMDM and us, the DAW templates and video courses are still in the rise.

What format do you think is best for your customers?

I think it really depends on the producer’s demand. For example I’m really bad with music theory and writing melodies and chords from scratch, so I’m always looking for MIDI packs.

What are your favourite genres at the moment, and what do you think about categorising music into genres?

I have always been attracted to House, Tech House, and Techno when I go out. I think it is good to categorise by genres, it aids both producers and labels to position yourself in the music industry.

What do you think is most important about running a Label?

Being consistent with your releases and promotions. Also, being updated with the latest trends throughout the charts and sound design in the tracks.

What platform would you recommend to create a website / Webstore?

Using all-in-one websites like Wordpress, Wix, Weebly are a great start for producers.

What is the strategy: quantity or quality products?

For us it always has been more about the quality, but also about price. We don’t want to offer our products to an exclusive group, but rather to all producers around the globe.

What is next for the label?

We want to expand our educational brand with start-to-finish video courses and more production tutorials to everyone.
