Progressive House Logic Pro X Template | EDM Sessions EP114
Progressive House Logic Pro X Template | EDM Sessions EP114
Episode 114 extends over 50 minutes of music production from scratch, our host Mikas makes a progressive house song from scratch, we first set up the BPM to 128BPM in Logic Pro X.
We begin by programming percussion that are reflecting the classic progressive house genre we are going for in this session. The result is immediate and strong and groovy. We then immediately proceed to record some instruments. First up we select a brass sound in Logic Pro X Alchemy synthesizer and record a simple MIDI pattern to kick this off. Afterward we record some bass stabs that are sitting perfectly below our brass.
Next up we craft a mid low stab sequence that will greatly enhance the overall groove of the song, we then work on the sound design until we get a rolling effect. We then add percussion that is used as effect in the background. We also add some eclectic synth with a long tail reverb that creates this spacey feeling.
Next up we add a deep pad with some automations that push the sequence further. We also add a pad on the high frequency, while it sits in the background it brings yet more dimension to our song. Sound design is used to mix it in properly.
We then add a layer of plucks to the already groovy parts, this strengthens the groove! We use a stereo delay to have this new element sit in the mix to perfection. Next up we add some more complexity to our bass sequence adding an extra hit with a different sound. Next up we add some SUB FREQUENCY love using a kick drum, we then sidechain it to the main kick drum.
We then record two leads and sub lead to complete this episode.
