A LIFE TRANSFORMED THROUGH MUSIC

The Story of Ukrainian EDM Producer Magic Tracks

Imagination and ideas combined with a strong dose of action can produce success stories. Magic Tracks’ career is symbolic of the New Era artist – he works in his home country, transfers his work across the internet to someone on the other side of the globe, where it is then sold throughout the entire world – behold the digital revolution in action.

We’re excited to have had the opportunity to connect with Magic Tracks and learn about the man behind the music. By linking with We Make Dance Music, he has been able to devote himself entirely to his passion and build as a person in other areas of his life. He is a young man with incredible gratitude, poise, and energy and a bright future.

WMDM: Hey! Thanks for all the powerful music you’ve contributed to the We Make Dance Music community. People love your sound. What are your musical inspirations?

MT: Hey! First, thanks for featuring me! The main inspiration for me is that I can give new music to people and see how they enjoy it. It's a magical thing: you start from absolutely nothing, with a clean slate, and as a result you build music with emotions, feelings… this is a unique musical journey.  It's amazing to know it, and this is something I love doing every single day.

WMDM: Awesome. How would you describe your sound? What do you look to accomplish when you set out to make a new song?

MT: It's not easy to describe my own sound, but I can try. I shoot for high quality of music and sound – that's what I want in my music and I hope I've got it sometimes:) I like to work with melodic genres, mostly.

WMDM: Based on what you’ve heard recently and what you’ve witnessed over the past 5 years, what direction do you see the EDM scene going? What genres will become even bigger?

MT: From year to year, more and more, it’s difficult to draw the line between styles. Some of the tracks cannot be attributed to some general style. Nowadays, many music productions that we hear are “in between” and this is a very winning thing.   As for the direction EDM scene is going, I think EDM is in search of new ways to be interesting and fresh for people and using sounds together that have never happened before! I can't give you a prediction of any singly genre or sub genre, but I know for sure that EDM  will become bigger and bigger!

WMDM: Tell us a little bit about your daily life living in the Ukraine. What does your average day look like as a producer?

MT: As I'm a musical producer and soundtrack composer, my average day I use for making music, working on some projects, new sounds or samples. I start my day at  8:00 and do morning exercises. From 9:00 to 17:00 I work on music projects, more technical side. I love to work at daylight, but sometimes I should continue work in the evening. I love to work one day on a new Big Room track and next day it can be orchestral or 8bit soundtrack for game :) I love such a variety. Also I go to a sports club several times a week because I love to run.

WMDM: How has We Make Dance Music affected your life?

MT: We Make Dance Music is a good place for me to be claimed as a producer. This means that I have more work, have more fun creating and have more money. My family likes it because they see how it makes me happy.  The WMDM's management is professional  and I love to work with them.  They encourage me to go harder and push it to the limits – always friendly way, I think because they are Canadian, haha.

WMDM: What words of advice or inspiration do you have for other EDM producers or novices who are looking to break into the industry?

MT: Work with love for your music, not to try to use other people's ways. Each has his own, then listen to what you really want.  Each has strengths and weaknesses - identify your strengths and bet on them. Read books, articles, watch video tutorials, buy some templates and communicate with people who have already achieved something. You will be surprised to learn that many well-known producers can respond to your emails and give you good advice. I only know cause I tried this.

Take criticism, because there is always something to make better in the tracks of starters, even a few years after your launch. It takes dedication for long time, but WOW it’s worth it.

WMDM: Thanks for taking the time to tell us your story. We’re thrilled to have you on the team and our users love you for helping take their music production to the next level. Keep up the great work. #EDM4Life

MT: I believe that hard work and study will give you big chances with getting what you want in the music scene. Thank you and let’s keep the party going stronger!
